Russell Watson's 'Concert for Katy' 2013

Wow! What an incredible night!

On Friday December 6th 2013 Russell Watson held his ‘Concert for Katy’ at the Guild Hall in Preston. We were so honoured to have not only had Russell there but to have had his 2 very special guests with him too! - the fabulous Mr Rob Emery on piano and the wonderful Jonathan Antoine who sang with Russell!

The air was electric and full of emotion from start to finish. We were extremely fortunate that Preston Council and Preston Mayor Mrs Veronica Afrin kindly donated the use of the Guild hall, the box office and all the staff as well as equipment and anything else that was needed to be able to make the night the huge success that it was! EVERYTHING was donated which meant that ALL the proceeds came to the Katy Holmes Trust! Nobody charged a fee at all.

The photographs you can see were taken by two wonderful men from Rouge Creative (http://www.rougecreative.com) called Roger and Kevin who also donated their time to capture every precious moment and edit all the pictures. They also took Dave, Charley and I out for a meal afterwards! We have friends for life there :-))

Russell kindly invited singers from St Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Primary School and All Hallows High School choirs to perform on stage with him! There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Katy’s school friends stood tall and proud as they filled the air with beautiful music.

Nina Fahey was our 13 year old Preston’s got Talent winner who was lucky enough to perform ‘The Prayer’ with Russell! She did such a great job and everyone was so proud of her!

We got to meet Jonathan and his family who are such truly wonderful down to Earth people who are so warm and loving. Jonathan has such a big heart and we felt so proud and incredibly lucky to have him there. Jonathan we love you!

Russell and Jonathan’s fans were simply AMAZING!! They travelled from far and wide to attend and still donated on the night! Such kindness xxx

The Guild Hall staff looked after us so well! Chris Wilson and all of the team there were brilliant, just brilliant! So welcoming! So proud of them all. Thank you to everyone!

Russell was every bit as amazing as we knew he would be. The songs were perfect. His team had worked very hard to pull it all together and even his family were there to support us all! It was magical.

We would like to thank all of the people mentioned above for working so hard to make the concert the success that it was. We are grateful beyond words. We’ll never forget the kindness and generosity you have shown us xxx

WE ARE HONOURED, DELIGHTED AND ABSOLUTELY OVER THE MOON TO BE ABLE TO TELL YOU THAT THANKS TO THIS CONCERT THE KATY HOLMES TRUST HAS RECEIVED £36,718.04!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO YOU ALL!!!
